We were a neighbor's super bowl party last weekend and, in classic small talk fashion, I asked him how his job was going. His response was, "In flux". There were some big changes happening within the company and things seemed a little hectic.

After talking to him for a while I realized more and more that his work situation was analogous to life in general.

Those who know Laura and I are probably aware that our life is often in a constant state of "flux". We are always staring down the barrel of a life-changing decision. It's rarely exciting for me. Honestly it stresses me out. I know there are people who thrive off of change and I envy all of you who do.

I can fake it pretty well though...

"Ya, life's great! We bought a house, we got a dog, Laura is getting a new job, our best friends are moving in with us, and we are paying down our debt..."

Internal translation

"Ya, I'm terrified. I have a mortgage, there's dog hair all over my new house, Laura is changing jobs (again), hopefully our friends will still love us even though they will know our dirty secrets, and I'll be paying off Belmont for the rest of my life..."

... Negative much?

I know this is supposed to teach us something. I'm just not always exactly sure what. All I really know is that the character development comes from how these decisions are made.

So I guess we'll flip a coin. ;)

Cheers,

Btw, currently in love with this song.
Thanks for stopping by... really. We heard a rumor that blogging is cool and people enjoy reading them. So we plan on sharing a slice of our moderately interesting life with you in hopes to temporarily cure your boredom or lack of interesting facebook content.

But mostly we wanted to have a place to document this ever-changing life that at times can seem so vapid and routine. Maybe some days we can look back and remember that crazy vacation, or that new restaurant we tried with the really hairy waiter. Whatever happens, we want to remember.

And we totally plan on blowing your content saturated minds with "instagramed" pictures of food and places we visit.
